On January 19, 2009 Total Systems Design, Inc. officially merged with Optimation Technology, Inc. Being a part of the Optimation team will bring TSD customers a broad array of additional services.

Optimation announced today that it has signed a letter of intent to merge with Total Systems Design (TSD) of Coatesville, PA. The companies expect to consummate an agreement shortly after the first of the year, after which TSD will operate as a subsidiary of Optimation. James Cummings, president of TSD, will continue in his role leading TSD as a division of Optimation.

Bill Pollock, CEO and founder of Optimation Technology, Inc. has been named as a finalist for Rochester’s 2008 Small Business Person of the Year Award. The award is presented by the Small Business Council of the Rochester Business Alliance and the winner will be announced at a gala luncheon on October 15, 2008.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, Rochester’s local news paper, “the Rochester Top 100 ranks privately held companies based on three most recent years of revenue growth.” This is the 6th year that Optimation has been on the list, and the first time it’s broken into the top three. This recognition comes in the wake of Optimation’s growth, not only in revenue, but workforce, nearly tripling in both areas in the last three years.

Earlier this August, Optimation attended NI Week, hosted annually by National Instruments, a provider of test and measurement hardware and software. “The worldwide graphical system design conference and exhibition features interactive technical sessions, exhibitions and workshops on the latest technologies for design, measurement, automation, manufacturing and test,” according to the company’s website.

Despite the end of Midtown Plaza’s once famous era, Optimation is helping to keep a treasured relic alive. The company is handling the dismantlement and move of the Clock of Nations from Midtown Plaza to its temporary home at the Greater Rochester International Airport.
