Electrical Power For Relocated Equipment

Industry: Consumer Products & Manufacturing

INTRODUCTION

Trikeenan, a ceramic tile maker based in Hornell, NY bought the assets of a specialty tile maker in New Hampshire. As part of the sale, the client decided to move the newly acquired equipment to its factory in Hornell, NY and shut down the operations in New Hampshire. The new equipment included large ovens, 12 round kettle ovens, two extruders and fume hoods.

SOLUTION

Optimation installed power requirements for Trikeenan, including a 480 volt 800amp power panel, tied into the power company's transformer that sits outside. From that panel, Optimation electricians had to install two transformers that will also feed two new 120 208 panels. From those panels, the electricians ran all of the conduit and circuits to the equipment that housed in the factory.

In addition, Optimation upgraded electrical components of the equipment to bring it up to code and provided construction and project management to oversee the installation and follow-up.

RESULTS

Within two months, Optimation completed the project on time and on budget. The factory is up and running, with plans for more Optimation services in the future
