Design Capabilities/Design Experience

Optimation provides electrical and instrumentation design services for a wide variety of process control and automation industries. Our designers, technicians and drafters are experienced in providing a full range of project services, including process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), panel layout drawings, loop and wiring diagrams/drawings utilizing current computer aided design and drafting (CADD) software applications.  We adhere to all specified client design standards, including US and international design codes. 

Regulated/Hazardous Areas

Our team of designers has the needed extensive experience designing systems in electrically hazardous areas, as well as cleanroom areas, electrical facilities and load centers. Our designers work integrally with our engineering team, providing a full range of services to our clients.

How can we help?

Engineering Release Packages for Bids and Installations

We prepare fabrication, construction and specification work (release) bid packages for both demolition and installation purposes. Additionally, we provide on-site services for immediate follow-up while the project is being installed.

Control Loop Design

Our instrumentation designers provide process control loop design alternatives, allowing our client to select the best solution for their problem. Based on the design requirements, our team can also specify and purchase the appropriate components for the solution.

Power and Control Panel Layout and Wiring

Optimation's team of designers work closely with local fabricators to have designs assembled, tested, and in many cases, field installed. We provide detailed power, instrument, and control panel designs and the required wiring diagrams per UL-508A specifications. UL-508A is our default design specification; however we will also use other international design specifications as required.

Design Expertise for Hazardous Environments

We have designers with the expertise necessary to design safe and reliable solutions for electrically hazardous areas utilizing appropriately rated (explosion proof, non-incendive and intrinsically safe) equipment and hardware.

Complete Design Documentation

Our staff is experienced in the development of P&IDs, control system architecture layouts, input/output (I/O) wiring diagrams, loop drawings, motor elementaries, power distribution, electrical hazard classification drawings, electrical and instrument layouts and conduit maps.
