At Optimation we like to create a culture of community, sharing, and free food always helps!
Each summer we schedule a day to host a Grill Day and “Toy Show” at lunchtime. This year was no exception, and the “toys” did not disappoint. We even had 2 horses that our Director of Marketing brought to show off!
It is important to have a sense of community with the people you work with. After all, in many cases we spend more time with our co-workers than our families. Everyone has hobbies and interests outside of work so we thought it would be fun to share some of that at work. Each year we schedule a Grill Day and Toy Show. Employees are encouraged to bring in their toys to share with their co-workers. This year we had about 30 cars/trucks, 4 motorcycles, 1 off road vehicle and 2 horses.
This annual tradition started several years ago, but has become even more popular. Employees bring their cars (or toys) to work in the morning and we have a section of the parking lot reserved to display them. They park them in the morning and then as many employees as possible come back to enjoy lunch and spend a little time viewing all of the cars during lunch. Optimation provides the food, we have a couple of employees that volunteer to grill the hot dogs, others help set up the tables and keep the food replenished. This year the temperatures were absolutely perfect so most people were able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while eating and socializing.
Not only do our current employees partake in the fun, but many of our retirees will come back and join us for this event. It has become an event that employees and retirees look forward to each year.
