Optimation welcomed 4 new apprentices this week! Here’s a bit about each…
Donovan Campbell started out stitch welding and wanted to further his education, so when he saw this job posted at Optimation he took advantage of the opportunity. He says that life brought him here, he was always job bouncing and decided to start welding with his uncle. His favorite food is mac & cheese and hobbies include welding and video games. Donovan is excited to work at Optimation for the knowledge he can learn and the stability with a job. Prior to starting his apprenticeship at Optimation he was working for Mcalpin Industries with almost a year of experience of welding as a Robotic Welder. Whatever the robot missed, Donovan would spot weld.
Jordan Montesano is a goal oriented individual with a strong will to grow, and loves to learn new things. He found this opportunity on Indeed. His favorite food is anything Italian. His hobbies include drawing, he believes that art is the best form of self expression. He is excited to work for Optimation for the resources and to grow and learn new things. Prior to Optimation, Jordan worked as an Operator for Rotork Controls.
Chris Novellin learned about Optimation while attending the Electrical program at MCC, as a teacher and fellow student are both Optimation employees. He loves food and has a few top choices. Pizza is probably his favorite, also fish fry’s, and you can’t go wrong with a Zinger plate from Webster Hots (seriously try it…..). His hobbies include weight lifting, movies and music. He also loves concerts. Hard Rock/ Alt Metal if he is picking the concert. But he listens to all kinds. He also likes arts/crafts festivals such as Park Ave or corn hill to name a couple. He’s also pretty good at ice skating.
“I am very happy that I applied at Optimation. I have been very happy since I started in March. In my experience everyone from the ownership to the managers want the workers to succeed. The employees are friendly and introduce themselves and really make it a welcoming environment. The Journeyman are willing to teach when interest is expressed. It truly has been a family atmosphere. It makes me want to accel and produce for the company in the short term as well as hopefully decades down the road.”
Nathan Thompson lives in Churchville with his wife Emily. They have a daughter, Lucy and another baby due in February! Nathan has been working in building maintenance since 2012 and over the last 2-3 years has focused his career towards electrical. He is looking forward to learning from the best in business and can’t wait to get started.
