Skilled Trades Services

We provide skilled trades and construction management services for everything from the installation of your process, to preventive maintenance, and everything in between. We value safety above all else, which is why we also offer onsite safety evaluations and training programs by our certified HSE engineers to set the same rigorous standards applied in our own training. Not only that, but all of our skilled trades staff have completed the OSHA 10 and many of our supervisors have OSHA 30 certification.

Optimation provides installation of industrial processes as well as relocation, startup of equipment at the client site and, if required, on-going comprehensive maintenance and support of the equipment for the long term. Optimation is versed in the performance of all aspects of specialty work, pre-startup reviews, mechanical integrity and management of change as it applies to processes that are covered under Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals
(29 CFR OSHA 1910.119).

We carry out fabrication and machine building at our industrial shops on Lexington Ave. in Rochester, NY. These shops house facilities for metal and sheet metal forming and fabrication as well as a UL-certified electrical fabrication and panel shop. Certifications are held to weld nearly every exotic alloy used for industrial processes. In addition to this, we also offer passivation services.

Dedicated Stainless Steel Welding Area and Citric Passivation

For clients who require stainless steel welding services for sanitary process piping in industries such as chemical, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical, Optimation’s shop includes a 9,075-square-foot space for stainless-steel. The space provides a haven for all aspects of the stainless steel fabrication process, such as handling, grinding, welding, and storage.

In shops that handle both carbon and stainless steel, activities such as handling stainless on a steel work bench, grinding steel in an adjacent bay, or lifting the stainless with steel lifting hardware can all introduce contamination, and Optimation has taken steps to avoid these common pitfalls. Adjacent to stainless steel welding is a citric passivation area.With these areas dedicated to stainless steel and extra attention paid to the process, we reduce the contamination risk and can now provide our clients with a higher quality product.
